What you'll get up to

As a trainer or assessor, you'll use your knowledge and experience to deliver and assess our first aid training courses. You'll ensure that participants are trained to a high standard, and inline with current regulations, policies, and protocols.

You'll need previous first aid experience to apply for these roles.

For example, if you have either been a:

  • workplace first aider
  • volunteer event first aider
  • armed forces medic
  • healthcare professional

Training

We'll give you all the extra training you need to excel in your role. This will include the Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) qualification or a St John Ambulance Assessor Award.

Being able to show interviewers that you give your time to something so positive is really valuable. Being a volunteer trainer has definitely taken me out of my comfort zone and helped build my confidence. – Richard, St John Ambulance Trainer
